What Does Pakolat Mean?
Charm and Quality of Another Era
In 2010 Janine & Andreas Kuhn founded the family enterprise “Pakolat”. The name derives from Andreas Kuhn’s grandmother Hedwig Pakolat who was born in 1902. Though Hedwig Pakolat never owned a bakery, she was always a perfectionist when it came to the many delicious treats she conjured from her stove and oven. The name “Pakolat” therefore represents for us an era in which fine quality and careful attention to detail were considered a point of honor and pride.
In todays world of mass production and fast paced lifestyles we would like to go back to those time honored traditions and offer you first rate products that are made in small batches by hand, in house, with love and attention to detail. Already in selecting our raw materials, we take special care to choose only the finest quality coffee beans for our roastings and ingredients for our cakes and pies.
In furnishing our Café we went beyond using antiques as mere decoration. They are an integral part of our passion for offering highest quality and attention to detail. Wether you consider the charm of our more than 100 year old National cash register or the quality of our Berkel slicing machine dating back to 1924, that slices meats more exquisitly than the best powered machines, everything you see at Pakolat is not only still in working order but is in fact used on a daily basis. In this way we would like to present you with an oasis from your hectic lifestyle where you can enjoy the charm and quality of another era.
Behind everything we do, is our desire to offer our guests and customers a satisfying experience.
